Department of Public Safety
Description
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) operates the Northern East, Northern West, and Southern Command Centers for providing Highway Patrol services throughout the state of Nevada. DPS is involved in each of the three Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Coalitions in the state; northern urban, southern urban, and statewide. TIM efforts have helped to facilitate more coordinated response and quicker clearance/restoring of travel lanes throughout the state. TIM efforts are planned to be continued in the state between transportation agencies, law enforcement agencies, and various services to respond to incidents (such as towing) on the state, county, and local levels.
