Description

This element represents the ability for a caller to interface with voice processing (voice recognition/synthesis) that supports voice enabled traveler telephone information systems. It provides wireline and wireless caller access to 511 systems and other telephone access mechanisms like 7 or 10 digit local access numbers. This system is planned to gather traveler info, alerts and advisories from ISPs but the early implementation requires NDOT to have staff put the information into the system. 511 then uses this info to support voice–based interactions with a traveler. 511 also has a website component that allows travelers to access travel information from the website.
